Sleepover

Remember those days when sleepovers meant giggling and painting each others nails and trying to keep up all night by those sweet sweet mallows just kinda crashed your system that by midnight, you're snoozing already?

Well I remember those days and those days were good. Eating ice cream til we're sick, calling up boys (on speaker phone, of course) and simply having a good laugh.

Yesterday was about that. But instead of painting nails and marshmallows, we decided to have the grown-up style of slumber party..martinis (or appletinis!), dunhill and porn. Stories and reminiscing about the more carefree days is imperative to any slumber party (that's one aspect that will never be lost)

But instead of hitting the sack at midnight, we kept each other up til 3:30 (or around that time). It would've been a bit later but I got my girly day and didnt feel too well so I asked Tina if I can sleep on it na lang (cause it was really painful)

And so she let me. But that's just alright. I dont think this will be the last of these slumber parties anyway

almost a year

It's been almost a year since I've touched this page but decided that today, I shall put more posts in them :) It has been a very lonely blog :(

What's been going on in my life since the last entry (which was my birthday celebration with the fabby chicas of D12)? I would say, a lot

First things first, I'll be off at this job by next week. It has been sweet (meeting all these cool people, attending to these events and doing projects like there's no tomorrow) but truth be told, I'm ready for something bigger!

Which leads me to my second piece of news. I am about to dip my feet in new waters, it being called, law school. You read right, law school. If you're wondering what a party girl (like me) is going to do there and if she'll survive, I guess we'll all just find out! :) But you know what they say, you can take the girl out of the party but you cant take the party out of the girl. I'll try to bring sexy back to law school...or make smart the new sexy..whatever I can do, I will.

Third, I got my first published article out at the Philippine Daily Inquirer (March 21, under the Op-Ed pages) It was surreal seeing my name in print. It wasnt even me who saw it first but my cousin (many many thanks Atty. Raul C. Pangalangan) and decided to share the good news with the family. My parents, my aunts and my siblings are very proud of this (so are my friends who I shared the news with) but as for me? I'm simply elated :)

That's why I vow to try to make another one published. Hence, I practice by blogging! :)

A bit of the downside. I tried applying for an online position for a publishing magnate (because they have online sites they manage) and it seemed like I wasnt considered for the spot. Kinda sucks though cause it seemed (at least for me) like the interviews (with HR and Marketing Officer) went really well but I guess the Big Guy has other plans to which I will find out eventually.

HAPPENINGS:
HOUSE OF GAGA: My glamour pals (Tina and MA) went out with me to party @ The House of GaGa party (April 1) at Dolce Superclub in Timog.

It was a blast! Boy, I'll surely miss these events :(

Thanks to MCA people for the guestlist which provided us with great Bacardi mixes and lounge access at the second floor.

Despite the fun factor, I lost my wallet by the end of the night. My scatterbrain didnt serve me well that night. I also didnt have that much to drink so I cant blame the alcohol (never will I blame the alcohol!!!). What's annoying though is that there are a lot of important stuff there aside from money. ATM cards, credit cards, my newly-gotten A card (Ayala Mall), my MediCard and my handy VIP Card for SBC (SBC Valero is the bomb!). A few id's went missing along with the wallet as well (goodbye pag-ibig number). The money isnt that important (I just lost around 300 bucks).

The hassle of calling all these banks and companies and my company's HR is what bums me out.

BEACH BUMS: My friends (and other new pals) started the summer right by heading to the beach of Tagudin Ilocos Sur, paddling on bamboo rafts trying to reach the dark blue part of the ocean (they didnt make it that far don't worry). A few drama here and there but that didnt put a damper to our nevertheless high spirits!

Cranium while drinking, saving the world while drinking, swimming while drinking are just some of the things we did over there at the north.

And what a crazy night it was when we headed to the famous Vigan plaza (where all these old structures still stand to date) and saw our college blockmates, also having a blast in Ilocos :)

not rocking the dock

i really really love onomatopaeic words hence the title..

I haven't really been updating my blog that much.. I guess it's one of those "mid-project" downers..I'm losing excitement..but I fear not cause there's loads of things happening on my end..just not enough time to blog about it :(

well anyway, to all animal lovers out there, come and join me on July 20 (that's a Sunday) at Eastwood City as we pose for PAWS! :) I am a total animal lover, dogs and horses in particular..pretty much animals that are cute and doe eyed..haha. I'd want to go over there to check out people's pets but I'd have to see if I can. I think I'm just gonna get jealous of their four-legged friends cause as of now, the pet that I'm keeping in my house are 2 fighting fish.. woohoo.. Kipper Jack (the pug that Raime gave) or KJ for short, is there in Raim's house since I wouldn't be able to take good care of hit (its a combo of him and it..KJ is such a ravenous beast sometimes, I don't think a personal pronoun should do hit justice)

So come and bring your adorable lil creatures, whatever they may be and join in the fun brought to you by the Philippine Animal Welfare Society, Eastwood City, Frontline Plus, McDonalds, The Philippine Star Pet Life section

POSE FOR PAWS at Eastwood City on July 20

SAY “CHEESE” !!!

Are your pets ready for their close-ups? If so, then head on down to Eastwood Central Plaza on July 20 (Sun) for the launch of “POSE FOR PAWS”. Anytime from 1-6PM, you and your pet can get your portraits taken in our unique photo booths manned by professional photographers.

Proceeds from all portraits purchased will go to the PAWS Animal Shelter which houses over 100 dogs and cats rescued from cruelty and neglect. The facility is not funded by any international organization or the government, and is solely dependent on donations and fund raising activities such as this to keep it running.

Last year, despite its limited funding, the PAWS Animal Shelter was able to spay-neuter 298 animals, respond to over 2000 calls from pet owners and animal rescuers, adopt out 30 dogs & 28 cats and rescue 42 animals in distress. Its humane education volunteer group has already reached over 5000 students and 28 schools - teaching kids and young people about kind treatment of animals and responsible pet ownership.

“POSE FOR PAWS” is made possible with the help of Eastwood City, Frontline,
McDonald’s and the Philippine Star Pet Life Section.

the night shinji made his helicopter come out

I went to Pedicab's album launch for Shinji Ilabas Mo Na Ang Helicopter and what a blast. I thank my better senses for pushing me to go and drink and have fun cause after all, it (is) a Friday. I was feeling a bit tired from work that around 6pm, I was really hesitating on making to the event. So for 30 minutes, I was smoking around McDonald's Q.Ave and starting weighing pros and cons just to go to the album launch (rofl)

PRO:
+ i get to drink
+ i get to see people from MCA
+ maybe this night is the night Jeff will introduce me to Diego (it still wasnt..wasnt in the mood)
+ i clearly wont spend my Friday night moping around the house

CON:
+ i'm sick
+ tamaditis was hitting me hard on the head
+ kuya cob wouldnt be with me during the duration of the night (which means i'd cab it from cubao)

And seeing that pro slightly outweighs con, i pushed my lazy arse self and enjoyed the night. i was able to grab Lai to come with me, saw Jeff, Raymond (Lifehouse tickets koooo!), Grace, Dylan, Wilson (you were late buddy!) and of course boss Ricky (hehe). I even saw a family friend who goes waaaaay back, si kuya JP (waaah I still couldnt believe your mom has no idea). The icing of it is I saw a professor! haha si Sir Tigno

Me: (squealing) OMG SIIIIIIR!!!
Sir Tigno: hoy! manahimik ka nga dyan, wag mo nga akong i-sir dito
Me: haha sorry! so Cezar (yes feeling close haha-->i was in the state of inebriated happiness) so sir who are you with? MC profs? I wanna see!
Sir: wala hindi mo kilala. mga kaibigan ko. bakit naman gusto mo pa makakita ng professors mo?
Me: wala, masaya eh. So what's up with Miriam? Bakit ginawang MU na?
Sir: Ginawa na bang MU? Ay oonga pala
Me: Hello sir, you teach there.. bakit hindi mo alam?
Sir: I stopped going there mga 2 years na
Me: HA?!? pero aaaaaww we were the last batch you taught. It's because we're special
Sir: Hindi ha, you guys burned me out

Waaaah ang kulit talaga ni Sir Tigno. pero he's one of the best!

So it was a great Friday for me, it wasnt totally wasted. Although I did miss out on Ted's merienda (dude, tiniran mo ba ko?? haha joke lang.. again super happy birthday Ted!)

birthday partaaay!

what a fun night.. once again, mozcom friends (and their certain plus ones), alcohol and dunhill frost never fail to perk up a bday bash :) and also, great food and music at Bistro 110. Streamline played and I'm familiar with their music and Jay's friends with one of the members so they played a kick-a** birthday song for us (me and Jay)
Aren't girlfriends great? :)
There's Ada who came out to party (once a Makati girl, always a Makati girl)

And then of course Marketing girls MUST have a picture And is somebody gonna score? :) hehehe joking Zsazsa. it was nice meeting you and thanks for having fun with us as well Another "outed" couple for the night heehee And Cuy's victim, este, boyfriend, Jab, came too. Cuy might be fun when sober but she's uber fun when alcohol is running in her system

The boys seem to be having a swell time as well Connie was there too! She was fun!! :) And we're fun too!!

All in all, last night had been fun! Thanks thanks to all!! :)

to jonats...

today i learned that an officemate, a colleague and more importantly, a friend passed away at 2 in the morning. he was no less than 30 and under normal circumstances, would've been at the prime of his life..

but sadly, jonats (as he was fondly called) met his maker due to cancer :(

this is quite weird to say the least. one because most of the people i know who've passed away are old and not directly related to me (except for my uncle). usually they are the parents of friends or something like that..it's of a degree type of relationship. jonats isn't one of them

i wouldnt say i've known him well nor would i say i've known him the longest but i'm glad to just have met the guy.. he can be stubborn (seriously not giving in to my points in friendly banter) but he's genuine.. most of all, what saddens me the most is that he was one of the first few friends i've had in the apathetic floor of the 21st. super kulit, di ako makatrabaho before without greeting him first sa ym.. he'd be so annoyed whenever i tell him na crush ko si ganito crush ko si ganyan but that's just typical "kuya" attitude..

so for the most part, at least in the short time that i've known jonats, he resides well in memory..
